AMA Saves Lives Kickball Tournament - Spring 2014
In my position on the executive board of AMA, my largest event is the AMA Save Lives Kickball Tournament. The event is to raise awareness for the importance of Organ Donation through Donate Life America. The teams that participated helped raise funds for a donation to the philanthropy.
We had 8 teams this semester, most from the CSU, Chico College of Business, and we had over 100 people show up for the philanthropy. The event took much preparation and planning, but my AMA board and committees came together to get this event off the ground and make sure that everything ran smoothly. The event turned out great! We raised awareness for Donate Life America, had tons of food, listened to music, played some games, got through the intense moments and had a great event.
This is the last time I will be putting on the event as Director of Community Affairs; however, I am excited to see how this event continues to grow in the coming years. I found that this event took so much planning and stress that at moments I didn’t know if it was going to happen. All the planning and team work was worth it, because once the event started I was able to let it go and enjoy the experience with all the other attendees.
It’s great to have such a committed team to have my back and be ready work wherever I needed them. Thanks AMA and everyone else who came! We executed this event together and I had a great time!
Kristen, Kim, Joe and I finally got around to going on the tour of Sierra Nevada Brewery. It was such a fun time! We saw the whole process how the beer goes from watched and hops all the way to the bottling process. Then we also had some great food at the restaurant!
Joe and I had a great birthday! Here’s some photos from the awesome stuff we did today! Even the 5 page paper wasn’t too bad
